I don't understand how a cost deficit of £100m is justification for any of this and I certainly do not agree with the assertion that the "taxpayer can no longer subsidise those using civil courts". Surely the reason we pay our taxes is for the government to subsidise this kind of thing - If I argued that I hadn't used the NHS in 10 years so don't see why my tax money should go to fund other people using the service people would think I was mad. Maybe some of us taxpayers do want to subsidise the court service instead of something like the MoD.

They have slashed every other service, what are we actually paying for?
