Anonymous who cannot sleep has raised my blood pressure - ahh if only it were as simple as s/he thinks it is. Sit in a real firm with real clients for a week and then post. Spend a week with me - I am currently doing "compliance" at 7 o clock as I don't have time during the day, ticking boxes, watching out for the next new regulation to arrive in my inbox. LIPs in the main don't understand the system in the same way I don't know how to fix my boiler at home so I call in an expert so I don't blow the house up - and the plumber gets paid more than we do being a legal aid practice! On top of that we have the threats to kill, the clients who shout and scream at us, wee on our seats in reception (yes true story) indeed earlier this evening I was adding this particular gem to the risk register I have to maintain.
