Derrick I agree entirely with what you say.I am afraid that the public have been duped by the insurance industry on too many occasions(PPI policies, refusal to pay out on policies, overcharging existing customers on renewal of premiums, not to mention the false and misleading information about a non existent compensation culture) for any stats produced by them to have any credence.
I accept that we as a firm vet all our cases carefully to ensure we get paid for the work we do.I also accept that there are a small number of crooked solicitors and CMCs (who are well known by insurers) who will act for dubious clients and give the rest of us a bad name.I firmly believe that by targeting those firms the insurers could drive them out of business.Unfortunately it is not in their interests to do so because they can use their activities as a stick to beat reputable firms.
Oh by the way anon at 8.02 am do stop reading the Daily Mail. The percentage of benefit fraud in relation to the Welfare Budget is 0.7% according to the DWP.However the publics perception is that it is in the region of 30%!!!I wonder where they got that idea from.Perhaps anon could let us know.Sadly we remain an ignorant ill informed public that laps up the right wing prejudices of the society we live in.Sorry I got carried away I am sure we also lap up left wing prejudices aswell!
