The point is mediation doesn't work for all. Let's not forget that there are numerous types of mediation in any event. Round table meetings involving solicitors and their clients, meetings where each party sits in a separate room because they don't want to be in the same room as their spouse, good old fashioned negotiation involving solicitors who swap financial information give advice and get the matter settled. It is the endless insistence that mediation is the only way forward that sticks in my craw.
