I am not a lawyer but fully appreciate the need for lawyers to best represent the public in legal matters.

As a member of the low-middle class average working population with moderate savings I was not
entitled to legal aid when faced with divorce a number of years ago, instead I employed a solicitor using my income. After various
similar quotes and promises of wonderful things I contracted one at an average hourly rate which was
three times my daily income. On conclusion of the Divorce all my hard earned savings had been depleted on fees and I was without
housing and only then was I entitled to legal aid.

Given the costs involved on any future appearance I will be a LIP especially in an atmosphere where I am not penalised for being one.

Instead of whinging that it is not fair on the public why don't you lower your fees or offer a reasonable fixed cost such
that the average person feels that it worth employing your services.
