I'm fairly sure that the article isn't that the judiciary suddenly coming out as anti-austerity revolutionary left wingers, and more - as I think most of the commenters appear to have gathered - that the cuts are being ineptly instituted, leaving people stuck in the legal system up the proverbial creek and with the most valuable resource in that system (judicial time) taking up the slack.

That doesn't appear to be a political argument to me: that is whether something is being introduced properly or not. You can write the headlines yourself - "system not fit for purpose - please see scandal x, y and z for further info". Of course the tories might be out by then, in which case david crawford can blame labour again!

Someone mentioned the nhs computerization failing because it was too expensive - anyone who reads private eye knows this isn't true. The computer company contracted botched it from start to finish... Ever heard of false economy? That's what the judges are saying...
