David Crawford recalls 1975 as being "the good old days". Sorry to disappoint you David but by then the corruption which is now endemic in what we called "the legal profession" was already rife. May I refer you to the Law Society's Gazette of, I think, 8th May 1975 where there is a fascinating case about a solicitor who was a member of the Law Society's Council whose behaviour was, to say the least, reprehensible. The Law Society praised him. The judge ordered him to be struck off.
The "good old days" started to come to an end in the late sixties, but then you are probably too young to remember that far back.
You will not find my name on the Roll any more: I am particular with whom my name is associated and solicitors, as a group, are not included.
