Anon at 7:59, whilst many practitioners would agree with this utopian ideal, the harsh reality is that for many over worked underpaid assistants they simply do not have the time to be "reflective", let alone stop to draw breath! The saving in firms' CPD budgets will doubtless be welcome, but personally, I welcome the strictures of having to meet my CPD annual target hours, as it forces me to physically make the time to update myself rather than being a round the clock hostage to demands of my desk. Sadly, I consider this move to be another nail in the coffin of professional standards, which seem to be going down the tubes at an ever increasing and alarming rate.
