The first respondent got it absolutely right. Once conscientious solicitors realise what is required of them, many hours will be spent not only on keeping themselves up to date and receiving training but also on demonstrating that they have received the right amount and the right type. Likely result? Increased spend on training in-house or attending training courses.
Meanwhile at the SRA more staff will be needed to scrutinise the training plans and offer more supervision-increased cost, increased uncertainty.
