We are all for better dispute resolution however it is achieved. Simply adding more staff members and more judges is only marginally going to improve the speed and efficacy of decision making even it it were feasible. Like Tim Wallis I am a mediator and ADR proponent and like him I agree it isn't a panacea. But to the user the client ADR is very much an approximation of justice whether you call it a compromise or not as is any negotiation. I also think that ADR is a broader ship than just mediation - how about time limited cost capped arbitration? For an example see the Yorkshire Arbitration Rules.
