Either that or there was some bizarre paradigm shift in the following 20 years in litigation, because when I started in the early 80's timetables were very relaxed, and even unless orders were regularly ignored.

But generally speaking we co-operated with other and the whole edifice of the justice system did not crumble...

It's only hide-bound martinets who could possibly see any merit in LJ Dyson and Mitchell...

Your belief that complying with often meaningless timetables equates to 'Justice being seen to be done' is very, very odd indeed...
