Re: 'Is FGM to be accepted simply out of cultural tolerance?'. This is not a meaningful comparison; wearing a burqa does not cause serious infection; removal of the ability to enjoy sex and in some cases life-long medical problems and/or death. It's just a form of clothing; why should this in particular be singled out? Many people of all religions / walks of life find micro-mini skirts & plunging necklines offensive, but nobody is suggesting banning those....
