McKenzie friends may be ok - if they knew the law and they knew the procedure and if they DIDN'T mislead those they assisted. My experience is that they support the client by 'jollying' them along to think they have a good case - until at the final hearing the McKenzie friend doesn't turn up or has to face the music that they don't know what they are doing and their advice has been so awful it could never have stood up. Comparing them to solicitors and solicitors fees is an insult - we do a professional job.
