The gazette has published Lord Harley's position. There have been some good posts on this thread. The thing is, if the judge had any doubts why did he let the jury come in? He could have bounced the lawyer at the start and no one would have been any the wiser. You don't let a lawyer behave like that for eight days when you have had him before you in the past (this was mentioned in the court room by the judge) and let him get started on a trial if he's a bit dodgy. This all points to the judge being unjustly annoyed. He didn't need to say anything he could have told his usher or done it in chambers. I am with the supporters as it doesn't ring true. If there were doubts or concerns they would have been dealt with on day one. It was the case in my cousin Vinny anyway. Isn't he entitled to annoy the judge if it's justified?
