Never done Legal Aid work, probably never will. It would be so easy for me to fall into the "couldn't care less" camp, but for once seeing something that comes as a positive to fellow high street practitioners is quite a nice feeling indeed.

Not to mention the "nostalgic" notion of the judiciary giving the government (of whatever flavour) a reality check now and then, as opposed to fashionable cries of "out of touch" judges failing to mete out real justice. My old Administrative Law professor would be so proud.
