Strange how the MDU always refer to public finances, yet it's only GP care that they cover that is publicly funded.

How about we take that away from them and centralise it all with the NHSLA - there must be huge legal savings to be had from dealing with those cases involving GPs and hospitals by the same team, leaving the Defence unions to deal solely with private medical treatment and regulatory defence work.

That would avoid those not particularly pleasant cases where different GPs fight among themselves (because some are with the MPS, some with the MDU) and also the cases where GP(s) and hospitals refuse to admit liability as they hope they can somehow shift the blame.

Alternatively, how about a close examination of all the private surgical patients that are allowed to deteriorate to the point that they have to be rushed into NHS funded intensive care? I'm not sure all of the MDU's members would enjoy having the substantial cost of that unnecessary NHS care added to their MDU subscriptions.
