I totally agree. Everyone makes mistakes, lawyers included and mostly we don't have to work all hours as many doctors do. Only gross negligence should be actionable (though I realise that could be difficult to define and might be linked to the seriousness of the consequences allowing the tragic mistakes to still be actionable). However public budgets are stretched in all directions and I don't see how we can on the other hand complain about the withdrawal of legal aid for example in matrimonial cases. If people want to get divorced and argue over things then they should pay for it themselves.
