@TimothyHawkinsthis this is precisely the point I was making about indoctrination. Lawyers and Judges believe that all LiP's are incompatible with law, yet fail to provide evidence of the outcomes they claim. I put it to all the lawyers here to demonstrate with strict objective evidence that the outcomes of LiP trials have worse outcomes. In family cases the legal profession including our Judges have failed to keep a record of outcomes where they perpetuate injustice against children in separation of kids from one parent typically the father. I remind you that Butler Sloth has perpetuated myths yet children continue to die. Since 2012 15 kids have been murdered by parents 12 by mum, 1 by sibling in care of mum, 2 by others and just 1 by father all these are a tragedy yet judges routinely give sole care to mum who is and been traditionally represented. Yet the courts including lawyers & cafcass refuse to monitor the outcomes of family cases. I for one believe in family law at least an engaged parent is a good parent and one who hides behind representation is doing precisely that. I also believe where family and most civil law is concerned an adversarial system serves only those earning from it and any suggestion otherwise has no objective evidential basis.

There is a wider point here that I have met a lot of people who have fired their lawyers, they universally did so because they felt their lawyer was not representing their interests, providing poor service and was poor value for money. I am certain that you’ll all claim you do a good job and I’m sure some do however there are many areas of law that need to grow up and join the real 21st century world. The first step on this would be to remove nepotism from judicial appointments, judiciary should be trained in dispute resolution, they should have to undergo a legal driving test to check their knowledge & suitability. Lawyers should not need a law degree and technology should be used for all money claims, mediation should be legally binding, family cases should be non adversarial with non blame culture and in open court. This list goes on but all are easily achievable but the legal profession need to drop their fear of change if they actually believe in justice.
