In non specified public law applications for such vital matters as discharge of care orders, applications to discharge placement orders, the burden is being placed on the previous resources of local authorities. They can well do without this. For the unrepresented parties it must be like straying into an operating theatre and being asked to "have a go" at someone's internal organs. Inevitably the Judge and represented parties end up talking over their heads. There is a strong possibility of injustice on occasion because parties with no experience, grasp of process or what a court is looking for, stumble around the labyrinth that is the system. I imagine this applies even more to private law disputes.
