This is an absolutely outrageous hike in fees by a government who seems to think that the state should not provide any services anymore. It comes at the time of a shut down in basic services by the Court, for example counter services without an appointment. So now I have for example a claim by a seriously injured client for compensation not caused by her, where a claim of say £100k will cost £5k to start. Plus it does not even make economic sense because there will be less people issuing so less people using the courts so less money generated anyway, a bit like a bakery which only sells bread for £5 a loaf - economic idiocy. The problem is that this isn't another bakery to go to down the street with a Court system so all that happens is that the poor and disadvantaged and even some of the middle classes, and all those small businesses the Government feels so strongly about, those hard working family people they drone on about ad infiniturm will not have the money to sue when people rip them off, or don't pay their bills. A disgrace - come on Labour - do something about it!
