I think Nick Cohen has summed it up nicely in "One law for the rich, no law for the poor". What will happen now is that freshers out of law colleges in the CPS will ride rough shod over the legal system in magistrates courts to speed up 'summary trials' and committals. I noted this personally in CPS seeking committals and OBTAINING CONVICTIONS for FORGERY OF COUNTY COURT ORDERS after 1984 because the the criminal offences created by the County Courts Act 1984 to ouster the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981 WERE NEVER PUBLISHED IN BLACKSTONE'S CRIMINAL PRACTICE until 2014 WHEN I BROUGHT THIS OMISSION TO THE PUBLISHERS OF BLACKSTONE.

May be it would have been better to cure the UNDER FUNDING of the CPS to avoid the waste of public funds in the unbridled desire of the CPS to obtain convictions at any cost when prosecuting first time offenders and swelling up the prison population by bail refusals right from the start.
