Yes, Paul, I agree that there is nothing like proper, professional advice. But my point is what if you simply cannot afford it? Criminal lawyers have their backs against the wall for a variety of reasons, many associated with the legal aid changes, and there is a tipping point beyond which it becomes no longer economic to practise.

I, too, got out because I could see the writing on the wall in 1997, and run-off cover was free and went off to do something else.
