Interesting post from Dr Davies from his side of the fence. It sounds like business as usual to me. Medco is an unmitigated disaster. I have no problem fixing medical fees. If nothing else if means I don't have to argue the toss over piddling sums of money with people who haven't got a clue about the law. What I object to is having the choice of expert / MRO being determined by an insurance industry funded machine. It wont work because all I will do is phone the agency I decide to instruct and make sure they instruct the expert I want. I actually feel sorry for the agencies especially the tier 1 firms. They have done a great job over decades to build businesses which are likely to be decimated. Tier 2 is slightly different - they may actually increase volumes from firms they have never previously worked with. I do not however believe for one second that firms will not continue to have proper commercial relationships with those who they instruct. It will simply be done in a circuitous / underground manner. It is political interference of the worst kind. I anticipate it will all fall apart very quickly and be properly confined to hall of shame.
