Quote: "The "one law for all" brigade are simply fundamentalist secularists who fervently believe that only they should enjoy freedom of belief and freedom to manifest their belief whether as individuals or as a group".

What is the evidence for this assertion? In some authoritarian societies maybe, because religion claims a higher authority than the state, and hence religion is perceived as a threat to the existing power structure unless it can be co-opted into supporting it, but in democratic societies no-one stops you from asserting your beliefs. I've never tried to stop Christian evangelists from telling me God loves me, or Muslim groups in my high street from trying to explain to passersby why Islam is a good idea. I recognise that believing in God can be a source of comfort and strength -or as Marx put it, 'religion is the opium of the people, the heart of a heartless world', and I 'm perfectly happy to 'live and let live'. If you read 'The God Delusion' you'll discover that 'even' Richard Dawkins acknowledges the possibility that there is a a god - though like me he considers it highly implausible. Don't try to force me to think like you and I won't try to force you to think like me. But it's precisely where religion claims the right to impose belief that it needs to be mocked and its claims derided.
