This has cheered my day up no end, returning to the grind after a bank holiday break in Scarborough.

I used to think that the Law Society should use its powers to prosecute those who carry out "reserved legal activities" without a licence in breach of the Legal Services Act (a criminal offence).

But now, as has been said above, they should let m'learned friends and their judicial brethren reap what they have sewn.

Indeed, the only thing missing is the jurisdiction of the Legal Ombudsman should be increased to allow complaints against the judges and counsel for the opponents to be made by the McKenzie friends, with a compulsory £500 admin fee payable whether the complaint is well-founded or not.

Then they will truly know what they have been missing all these years (when we have taken the flak from them without any thanks whatsoever)....
