In response to Anonymous2 June 2015 06:25 pm question:
''Nobody, but nobody, should be permitted to be an MKF who has a criminal record. Anybody disagree?''.
To an extent I disagree. My understanding is if someone has committed a criminal record (but it is ''spent''), don't see why they should be barred from practicing law. If the crime committed is very serious then yes they should be barred (I can think of a few - murder, crimes against children, terrorism) then absolutely should be. But if its ''spent'' and they are truely remorseful then why not.
You see some groups of society certainly get disproprtionate sentencing from Judges & Magistrates - (not only for the crime committed, but just because they are of certain class or race or religion). Disproportionate regulation in all areas of the ''establishment''. Born & bred in inner-city Birmingham & living like a Cockney in East London for over 18 years - certainly I have hundreds of examples of this -approach & not to mention in many other areas of society that do law enforcement.
