I have to say I'm really surprised at some of the comments being posted by people from the legal profession. Uber's business model in Europe has been to wilfully ride roughshod over not just established regulations put in place to protect the travelling public, but also established laws. If legal professionals seem to think that's acceptable because the service is "cheaper" it seems a pretty desperate state of affairs. The uninformed comments about taxi operators in the UK "buying and selling" licenses or taxi plates also display a concerning lack of knowledge. That system operates in parts of the US, but certainly does not in London. Anyone "fit and proper" can become an operator, provded they fulfil the basic criteria...
