But where, Anon., 7.50, is the money to come from to pay off the debt and reduce the deficit Labour created with its profligacy? Do you remember the selling off of our gold reserves for $250? Do you remember the two wars? Do you remember Northern Rock? Do you remember the PPIs which are now coming home to roost?

If we do not do something about the debt and the deficit we shall end up like Greece, but with no one to bale us out...

And do you remember Dennis Healey being summoned to appear before the IMF and told to enact some economic sense in, I think, the 1970s? It was a bit like Greece referred to above. If you get into enough debt others control your life and you cease to be a government.
