Anon I do not pretend to be an economist but I believe public expenditure on hospitals and schools is a good thing particularly when you consider the state they were in when Labour gained power.The Tories did not oppose any of the spending and presumably agreed with me.
Public spending under labour had been at one of its lowest points since the war at 35-40% prior to the crash which is a fact.The banks caused the financial crisis which is also a fact.If labour had not spent money on schools and new hospitals god knows where we would be now!
David I agree with you about Blair and the Iraq war.Iwas devastated when we went to war and fell out with a number of people because of my then unpopular views about it.But if you really believe the Tories would have acted differently and avoided going to war particularly if this would have upset the Americans the you are either deluded or disengenuous in my opnion
