I had one of these from the same company. I was attending a public enquiry at a local hotel, which I had been to many times before. Unbeknown to me, they had recently engaged Parking Eye. The signage notifying visitors of this was (I suspect deliberately) somewhat sparse. I was able to contact the hotel and get the penalty removed quite easily as I had been there legitimately. What upsets me though is that in this era of data protection, our Government sells our personal details to these private companies willy-nilly, so that they can pursue aggressive civil claims against us. I don’t mind the police having access to my personal information through the DVLA, but I object fundamentally to this kind of practice and for God knows who to be made a party to information such as to where my children live, for example, without my knowledge or consent.
