There are two clear difference between solicitors on the one hand and teachers and bin people on the other.

The first and perhaps lesser in importance is that solicitors run businesses where cash flow cannot be made up out of strike money or benefits. Even if a firm could hold back on paying its rent, rates and utilities and so on it could not, in all conscience fail to pay its staff.

The second is that teachers and so on are effective when they merely stop work for a day or so, every few weeks. Would that work for us? Perhaps it might
