Comment

What is interesting about the comments here is that very few people appear to appreciate that freeing people up from designated desks is a 'by product' of a paperless working environment.

Seeing the occupation of a private room filled with rows of filing cabinets with a secretary outside is reminiscent of the 1960s and 'Mad Men'. That kind of working environment was necessary when work meant always having to martial piles of paper.

It is odd that a number of people see the replacement environment as restrictive and 'big brother' like when it is designed to be liberating and conducive to flexible working.

I've seen quite a few practices taking their first tentative steps to paperless working and the comments from those experiencing it have been far more favourable than otherwise.
