While I am at ease with reigning in profligate fees from greedy law firms there is a note of caution required here. There is still reluctance in the medical professions to accept that they, like anyone else occasionally fall below the standard of care that is required of them. That institutionalized reluctance results in cases being defended where there is clear evidence that the negligence is a reality.

These cases cause huge delays and rack up fees, especially the fees of other medics acting as experts. Perhaps some attention should be diverted towards others who make very good profit from clinical negligence actions at the taxpayers expence.
