This article, and the one about the train fair fraud, reminds me of how we, as solicitors, are expected to observe the utmost high standards at all times in both our professional, and personal life, encumbered with all the regulation the goes therewith, and suffering sanctions if we fall short. Yet at one and the same time we have to trade as in competition, with others that are of a completely different colour, whether regulated by the SRA, other regulators, or not at all. It is the complete lack of a level playing field that grieves me. Why do we have to put up with a crippling level of regulation which simply puts us at a disadvantage in the market place?
