There are things called rules that have to be followed. If only I could just ignore all of the provisions about defendant experts, questions, replies, discussions, joint reports, further statements etc etc etc.

I have no idea why you'd decline any offer as unreasonable (if it was, in fact, reasonable) and I can't recall any single instance where the conduct has been so unreasonable so as to justify indemnity costs.

Thing is, the court has to give both sides the chance to present their case. If one side wants to play silly buggers with a hopeless case then the other side can't do much about it.

Seems to me you don't deal with litigation much, or specifically don't have experience of dealing with the NHSLA.
