Somewhat amusingly, my minor children have all received 'cold calls' about they having been mis-sold PPI. I have guided them on how to ask the caller (when a person not a machine) very slowly and patiently about the legal requirements for a contract, which usually has the caller hanging up. My eldest, not yet 16, says she has also had calls about car accidents. Having been mostly self employed, I always removed the PPI element on any financial arrangement I entered into, yet I still get 2 or 3 calls or texts every week, and have done for a few years. One caller told me they had my contact details because they had 'bought a list of people who bought PPI.' Since I know I haven't, it suggests these lists are inaccurate, and a waste of money.
