Dyson refers to ‘exorbitant’ legal fees.

Why is it that whenever a silk successfully climbs the greasy pole and is appointed to the Bench with a fat salary and enviable pension provision, he or she conveniently forgets the exorbitant legal fees earned at the Bar ("don't blame me old chap, I left those sorts of matters to my clerk"). Nevertheless we are constantly reminded what a financial sacrifice it is to forgo the Bar for the Bench, so come on Dyson don't be shy, enlighten us as to what you earned in private practice.

By the way, I've been struggling to work out how to change the drive belt on mine. Any suggestions?
