I don't doubt that, Anon 10.04, my point is that we DO inhabit a compensation culture where we are encouraged to believe that even the slightest wrong must be compensated. We don't have to look after ourselves any more as someone will be made to pay if we fall over and graze our hands and knees.

We are encouraged to be a pathetic load of whingers. If that is what you want, or even if it isn't, that's what you've got. All I am saying, and am surprised about, is the fact that LJ Dyson doesn't seem to appreciate this.

And so far as our profession is concerned it all began with s.39 (no repealed, or so I am told) Solicitors Act, 1974. The present level of PII premiums is a direct consequence of all this.
