There is a clear disparity in the number of female QCs. I think they make up about ten or 11 percent of the number of silks. The proportion of female junior barristers is much higher. Dark Horse does, however, have a good point. There are plenty of talented female solicitors around, and a recruitment drive from their ranks should help. Similarly there are plenty of ethnic solicitors. Give them the opportunity they deserve.
