And what if Mrs. Landsberg had done more than asked, looked through the papers and advised on the merits and then billed Mrs. M for doing so? I bet Mrs. M. would have refused to pay, and rightly so, as she had not contracted with Mrs. L. for that service.

And anyway was it not by this stage too late to have done anything about the 'order' as terms of agreement had been reached:Horton v. Horton [1961] 1Q B?
