I think if those commenting above and (largely) singing from the same hymn sheet had showed just the slightest humility during their careers, if they were just a little less arrogant and accepted that sometimes people DO feign injury, that sometimes doctors DO cut and paste reports, that sometimes accidents DO just happen without negligence, that there is no automatic entitlement to compensation just because you're in an accident, that sometimes claimants DO lie about accident circumstances because they know full well in the absence of witnesses their claim will probably succeed (50% of something is better than 50% of nothing), that their clients sometimes DO hIre a car when they don't actually need one, that they fabricate loss of earnings claims (I'd like to ask solicitors how often they recover the full amount claimed); THEN folk might have more sympathy. As for job losses I agree but it's a non sequitur, would anyone be upset at job losses at British American Tobacco?
