'Beaumont are much more than just an online firm'

Well they've hardly been bought for their 9-5.30pm High Street office in Wakefield - with all of 4 partners and 5 associates - have they?

They've probably been bought because they:
a) are volume conveyancers with lots of paralegals
b) were probably cheap as chips to acquire and the wages in Wakefield will be very low
c) they look like they do little else and so LZ won't have to pay to dump unwanted baggage (cf Slater and Gordon and Pannones)

I doubt anyone who isn't a volume domestic conveyancer has ever heard of them.

It may be a perfectly sensible acquisition for Legal Zoom - they may be able to add extra efficiencies in the IT and buy in more cheap paralegals to get a bigger share of the bottom end domestic conveyancing market.

As I said above - it's not a market that anyone with bespoke legal skills should want to be in - tiny fees, big risk, competing (or trying to get deals done with) weasels who don't understand the law and who are helpless if they can't just follow their case management systems.
It's a mug's game for a qualified lawyer to be in.
