I think it was Lord Macauley who said something along the lines that rights in this country are usually hard won. But once won were never removed. He may have been right in the 19th century but in the 21st we have gone backwards. The gangsters that populate this government are turning the clock back with breath taking cynicism, in a thinly disguised attack on ordinary people's rights. I suspect that Macauley would not have approved. And I am aghast at what is happening.
