This is depressing-another nail in the coffin of a once proud and confident legal profession.

I recall the glee of shallow politicians at the time the Legal Services Act was enacted, as consumerism was placed at the heart of our legal system in ignorance of the ethical values and professionalism which over decades had underpinned the practice of law.

A former Law Society President described in a speech at the time that the Law was much like a delicate eco system, which had to be protected.

Well it wasn't, and the historic checks and balances in the delivery of legal services were recklessly discarded, with the pursuit of greed being the all embracing goal.

Labour has much to answer for in terms of its contamination of our once respected legal system
