Today we hear that 7 leading investment banks have paid £21m in tax between them.
We already knew of the retail and computing giants which get away with paying little or no tax. The got don't care about that but are up in arms about so called fat cat PI lawyers earning too much money. They regulate and dictate how much a high street lawyer can charge but dont give a damn that lawyers in the City can earn millions each year. Criminal lawyers fighting for justice are only able to charge £25 per hour but the senior city lawyers can justify their £500 hourly rate which they charge to government departments.
This government is intent on denying the legal right to redress rights of ordinary working people. The ideological basis of the changes in the legal profession is to remove the legal rights of the ordinary man by closing down the high street solicitor or by making it difficult to obtain advice.
Dark days ahead for all I'm afraid.
