This has been an interesting discussion and more than anything it has demonstrated the danger of allowing immigrants to not 'live as the Romans do when in Rome'. It has also demonstrated the propensity of Islam to advocate that only it is right and all others must compromise to allow it to remain unaltered, unaffected and unimpeded.
With such attitudes, it is hardly surprising that Islam is on a collision course with the rest of the world.
And therein lies the devil: these issues are only about religion for Muslims, for others it is about attitudes. Peace and harmony can only come if everyone gives a little whilst we share this little dot of a planet. if one party only is expected to do all the giving and the other does all the taking it is hardly surprising that it results in conflict.
There is no greater threat to peace than intransigent arrogance born of doctrine.
There are countries around the world that live according to the laws of Islam; Britain is not one of them. To come back to where this started, it seems that at long last the government in the person of Mrs May is waking up to that fact. Whether it is already too late and the horse has bolted, only time will tell; and we don't have a great deal more of that.
