It almost defies belief that a solicitor of such experience could deceive a client even with the best of motives. As legal advisors we do not act independently of clients, we are the clients . If we pretend to a client we are misleading them whether or not we are charging for our time. In such a scenario a solicitor should no longer be allowed to practice as he appears to be unaware of what he was doing. Trust is a vital component for any professional advisor the loss of which ruins any right to the implied confidence of those seeking his services.
