Thank you, Marshall, you put it better than I ever could. I hear it said that our soldiers in Afghanistan insisted their colleagues shoot to kill them if they were ever captured by the insurgents. Apparently they were lucky if they were chained to the back of a truck and dragged around the place until they died. Others report that unspeakable things were done to British prisoners with chainsaws and grinders.

You cannot subject those who have to deal with that to the tender mercies of the HRA and our civil and criminal law. It is complete madness to suggest otherwise.
