"The vast majority of claimants in all sub-£25k claims will want to engage a lawyer."

This I seriously doubt. Once the Government starts advertising you can bring your own claim with guidance and assistance from dispute resolution advisor's for a small fixed fee, I doubt the majority will go anywhere near a Solicitor's Office. I'd expect a 90% loss of business.

@Anonymous 12.59 ;

"I understand the point that there is no effective access to justice because the majority of the British public can’t afford solicitor’s fees. "

Is this really true?

People happily pay £3-4K to an estate agent for advertising a property.

Equally, they'll happily pay £10-20K for a new kitchen or bathroom.

The average wage in the UK is £27K. That's £520 pw but they can't afford an hours legal advice in a week?

It's only those on low incomes and benefits that don't have access to justice and that's the fault of the Government for abolishing Legal Aid.
