I think they should extend this to household fraud and make it the law that if someone breaks into your house and nicks £5000 worth of jewellery then you cannot claim for it on your household insurance on the basis that it may be a fraudulent claim. That will save a pile of money on household insurance premiums. I suppose the easiest way to do this is to just have a compulsary excess of £5000 on every type of insurance that there is!
